Picture this: It's a hot summer day. I'm talking "it feels like i'm melting onto the floor" hot. You've got 2 A/C units putting in overtime. There are 5 different fans running straight at you. The heat is making you tired and what do you do when you're exhausted? If you're anything like me, the answer is drink coffee. But normal ol' "hot" coffee just won't do. No, no, you need something else. You need something cold and something delicious. Luckily, we've got you covered. Here a 5 coffee recipes that are sure to cool you off.
1. Cold Brew Coffee
Cold brew coffee is "in" right now and for good reason. This brewing technique circumvents the heating process traditionally used for all coffee brewing resulting in a drink with lower levels of acidity that goes down much smoother than your run-of-the-mill iced coffee. Plus, you can drink this bad boy straight out of a mason jar for bonus "cool" points.
2. Thai Iced Coffee
I love thai food. I love spicy food. I love spicy thai food. Thai Iced coffee is the perfect compliment to spicy thai food but also stands up well on it's own. This unique drink originates in Thailand (Well, duh) and is notable for the inclusion of cardamom spice. Not every recipe includes cardamom (including the one linked here) but if you want an authentic Thai Iced Coffee, I would be sure to add it.
3. Iced Latte
We love this drink a whole "latte." How can we not? It's in our name for crying out loud. The Iced Latte is a staple in any coffee drinkers summer repertoire.4. Frozen Cocoaccino
I have trouble pronouncing cocoaccino. It doesn't matter how many times I see it written or hear it pronounced correctly I end up throwing in like 5 extra syllables somewhere. But damn if it isn't super tasty. Perfect as a weekend treat, the cocoaccino mixes espresso, cocoa powder, and maple syrup to excellent results.
