Compared to the Supernova Titanium burr set, the Iridescent Hypernova adds a titanium plating to the 440 stainless steel base, increasing the HRC* of the teeth to 65. Like the Supernova burrs, these offer improved grinding at the top of the range for better particle distribution at espresso sizes, resulting in an extraction with increased clarity and a more balanced profile.

The titanium coating also boosts durability and heat resistance compared to the stock Supernova burrs that come with the VS3 grinder (HRC 58)—because the burrs are harder and stay cooler while grinding, they’ll stay sharper longer.

Though the smooth surface on the cutting edge created by the titanium coating does slow the grinding process down somewhat, the result is an overall more consistent grind.
