Let me start off by saying that before buying the ECM Classika PID, I had never made espresso. And my experience with other coffee brewing methods was very limited. But after much research I decided to buy this machine and try making espresso at home. Needless to say, everything has gone well, thanks in large part to the ECM Classika PID.

My research revealed that there are a few variables that must be taken into consideration if you are trying to make a good espresso. Some of the most important being grind, temperature, pressure, and brew time. The ECM Classika PID allowed me to easily keep three of those variables consistent from shot-to-shot allowing me to dial-in my grind much more easily than without that information. The built-in pressure gauge, temperature display, and timer were indispensable as a novice!

The machine itself is beautifully made, very well designed, and solidly built for years of use. The stainless boiler alleviates any concerns regarding the presence of undesirable elements in the brew water, and the water tank is easily removed for filling & cleaning. Maintenance is a relatively simple affair with the ECM Classika PID and as with any machine, it should be done regularly. This espresso maker has performed flawlessly, and guests are always looking forward to my “firing it up” and making some awesome coffee! Sure, it has some limitations insofar as steaming is concerned - just like any other single boiler machine - but those limitations have not been an inconvenience (steaming milk for about 3 cappuccinos seems to be the practical limit of this machine).

I cannot recommend the ECM Classika PID enough for those looking to make great espresso!
