The Twist has some exciting features that make it competitive in terms of consistency and quality with grinders that cost hundreds of dollars more. The 54mm flat steel burrs are adjusted using a worm gear mechanism, which allows for extremely minute shifts to burr spacing. In our testing, a 98° rotation of the worm gear shifted the burrs by 1 micron, whereas the standard grind adjustment knob we compared it to made that shift with a 2° rotation. That means the Twist has the potential to be as much as 50 times more precise than other grinders. 

Programming and operating the Twist is easy and intuitive, and it’s got some built-in functionality to help streamline your puck prep process. Like most modern grinders, there are two programmable timed doses that can be easily adjusted in tenth of a second increments. Unlike most modern grinders, however, the Twist has Barista Mode, which streamlines your process by allowing you to select your dose by pressing the microswitch—one press dispenses a single dose, while two gives you a double.

The Twist is built to last, too—not much plastic here. All of the housing and internals are made of metal.
