Varia FLO (Flexible Liquid Output) Dripper
The result of collaboration between Varia’s Ramsey Gyde and Kurasu, Japan’s Yozo Otsuki, the Flexible Liquid Output (FLO) Dripper is a revolutionary pour over device that puts the power of flow control in your hands. Easily swap out FLO screens to adjust flow parameters that were previously dependent on the skill of the barista.
Features & Benefits
Made from high-quality, double-walled stainless steel, the 350ml FLO Dripper is cool to the touch, even while brewing. It comes with three easily-swappable FLO screens (slow, medium, and fast), each of which changes the flow rate, flow path, and contact time of brew water with your coffee so you can optimize these characteristics in relation to grind size, temperature, and brew ratios to dial in specific taste profiles.
Use the slow plate for full-bodied and high extraction yields commonly paired with agitation techniques (swirling and stirring). While this may be perfect for medium to dark roasts, you may want to use the fast plate to coax bright, clean flavors from lighter tea-like roasts, or the medium plate for a more balanced cup that may fall somewhere in between. There are also four additional plates you can purchase to explore the wide world of flavors available to you from pour-over coffee.
The FLO Dripper is compatible with flat-bottom wave papers and features a wide base so it’s compatible with a variety of servers and mugs.
Why You Should Get It
If you love pour-over techniques and want to unlock the full spectrum of flavor and aroma compounds available within each coffee, the FLO Dripper is the perfect companion. It’s the explorer’s flat bottom pour-over, perfect for anyone who wants to experience every taste the not so flat world of coffee has to offer.
